Port Authority of NSW has welcomed the news that Eden has been named a finalist in the NSW Top Tourism Town Awards 2023 in the category ‘Small Tourism Town (population 1500-5000).
From its history, heritage, and natural beauty, Port Authority of NSW CEO, Captain Philip Holliday said the town has so much to offer as a tourism destination – and as an up-and-coming regional cruise destination.
“This is an exciting time for Eden and the community. Volunteers and local businesses have worked tremendously hard over the years to promote Eden as a truly amazing destination,” Captain Holliday said.
Captain Holliday added the past cruise season is a great example of this, with Eden experiencing the biggest and longest cruise season ever with 34 cruise ships visiting, bring more than 50,000 passengers to the Sapphire Coast.
“Eden really is a hidden gem and on behalf of Port Authority of NSW, I wish Eden all the best when the award is announced on 30 May.”
There is an opportunity for people to get behind Eden by taking part in the public voting period, which runs until Friday, 12 May. Winners will be on Tuesday 30 May.
