Sydney Voted Best Australian Cruise Port Again

Sydney’s scenic harbour and iconic attractions have cemented it once again in poll position as Best Cruise Port in the 2022 Cruise Passenger Readers’ Choice Awards.

Port Authority of NSW’s CEO, Philip Holliday said it was great to see Sydney recognised as the Country’s cruise destination of choice, after a two-year hiatus.

“It is the fourth time Sydney has been honoured with the award after claiming the title in 2018, 2019 and 2020,” Mr Holliday said.

“More than 6,500 readers voted in the awards, which are considered the largest of their type in Australia.

“I think that the ability of Sydney’s two cruise terminals to host ships of all sizes — from the largest ships to smaller boutique cruise lines, combined with the Harbour’s exceptional beauty and incredible offerings, makes sailing here very special for cruisers.

“It is also wonderful to see the cruise industry bouncing back post COVID, with visitation rates in NSW closer to pre-pandemic figures than expected.

“2022 was a stupendous year for the cruise industry with lines coming back bigger and better than ever.

“More than 40 different vessels from 25 different cruise lines are expected to make more than 300 calls in NSW this financial year,” said Mr Holliday.
